The course & your visit
Read the holes before you tee off at Mount Gambier
Mount Gambier Golf Club publishes a detailed tour that pairs each hole with the club’s own notes on its main hazards and landing areas. It is useful preparation for a first round because the notes explain how the next shot can change after a drive or approach.

A line can matter more than a long drive
The club’s note for the second hole says the fairway feeds a drive to the right, leaving a longer second shot if the pin is back. It also warns that a ball landing short can kick sharply right towards a bunker. That makes the hole guide more than a list of distances: it points out where the next shot may become awkward.
The seventh hole presents a different sequence. The club recommends keeping the drive left without reaching the bunker, then playing the second shot up the right because the fairway falls from right to left. Its guide describes the green’s tier and right-side bunkers as part of the challenge that follows.

Finish uphill beside the clubhouse
The eighteenth is described as a right dogleg climbing towards the clubhouse. The club identifies a grass wasteland to the right, bunkers short and right of the green, and a tier running across the putting surface. Its suggested route is a long iron down the middle followed by a short iron, with the pin position affecting the putt that remains.
Visitors are welcome, and the club asks players to contact the Pro Shop to arrange a round. Its visitor page lists club and cart hire as well as nine- and eighteen-hole options, so it is the place to check the current arrangements before setting out.
