The course & your visit
Choose your loop at Robe Golf Club
Robe Golf Club splits its course into the Ocean 6, Dunes 6 and Town 6. Each loop starts and finishes at the clubhouse, and the club lets visitors choose six, twelve or eighteen holes, subject to seasonal restrictions. That format makes it possible to shape a round around the time available without leaving the course halfway through a loop.
Three loops, three different settings
The Ocean 6 was built through the 1980s and 1990s on undulating land that runs towards the ocean and lighthouse before returning to the clubhouse. The Dunes 6 opened in November 2019; the club says its design by Neil Crafter uses the natural sand-dune terrain and looks across Robe township, West Beach and the bay.
The Town 6 is the original part of the course, dating to the club’s beginnings in 1924. The club describes several holes running parallel, divided by trees and bushes, with small greens that can make the approach matter even when the hole first looks straightforward. These are distinct chapters of one course rather than a front and back nine repeated twice.
Match the round to the day
The club welcomes green-fee players most days, but says access can be limited during competitions, major events, tournaments and corporate golf days. Visitors joining Wednesday or Sunday competitions need an Australian Golf ID number and official handicap; the Friday Chicken Run is open to visitors with or without them. Social tee times can be booked online or through the club.
Electric carts and club equipment are available for hire. The club’s visitor page also lists different latest tee-time windows for rounds with carts or club hire than for walking rounds, so check those details when booking the length of loop you want to play.
