Metropolitan Golf Club

Metropolitan Golf Club offers a complete 18-hole championship layout situated in Oakleigh South within South Australia's Melbourne Sandbelt. Playing to a par of 72 and measuring 6,290 metres with an official Golf Australia slope rating of 137, the layout demands disciplined club selection and strategic shot placement from the tee.

The course routing takes full advantage of its natural gentle sandbelt parkland, introducing natural elevation changes, tree-lined fairway corridors, and subtle contours that reward well-placed drives and calculated approach angles.

Putting greens at Metropolitan Golf Club are surfaced with Pure Bentgrass, manicured to provide true-rolling ball speeds and consistent roll across all 18 holes. Subtle green slopes and borrows require thoughtful green-reading and distance control on downhill putts.

Fairways are planted with Couch, producing lush, tightly knit lies and reliable turf cushions that encourage clean iron strikes throughout the season.

Metropolitan Golf Club is a Tier 3 private golf institution. General public walk-up play is not available. The course is maintained exclusively for club members and their invited guests.

Members of accredited Australian and international reciprocal clubs may apply for visitor playing privileges. All reciprocal arrangements must be initiated in advance via a formal letter of introduction from the visitor's home club General Manager or golf operations office.

Metropolitan Golf Club is configured as a walking golf course. Pull trolleys and buggies are welcome, and the natural terrain provides an enjoyable, accessible walking round.

Pre-round preparation is supported by a dedicated driving range, a manicured practice putting green, allowing golfers to warm up their swing and dial in green speeds prior to teeing off.

While clubhouse hours are primarily focused around competition days, the course is located within minutes of local Oakleigh South cafes, bakeries, and country pubs for post-round meals and refreshments.
