Copperclub: Norman golf on the Copper Coast
Copperclub at The Dunes plays a Greg Norman-designed championship links at Albatross Drive, Port Hughes — not to be confused with Victoria’s Dunes, this is Yorke Peninsula seaside golf looking over the dunes to Spencer Gulf and Cape Elizabeth. Play nine or eighteen from back or forward tees, then The Deck Bar with its gulf views. The venue publishes a hole-by-hole playing guide for the front nine.

The front nine, as narrated
The guide opens on a first green of contoured sectors fed from the left beside a vegetated sand-hill, then a true-links second over a distant hill to a front-to-back green. The ripping short par-four third offers a waste bunker left and driving-zone bunkers right, with the layup-left-and-chip line flagged as the percentage par. The fourth sits in a natural amphitheatre where anything short-left feeds back to the waste sand.
The fifth’s angled rear spine rises half a metre with a gully behind; the sixth, ranked the course’s hardest, runs a hogsback centreline to an elevated green with a massive right drop-off; the seventh’s horseshoe green nods to MacKenzie; the eighth demands a towering Norman-trademark mid-iron over left waste to a diagonal green; and the ninth tops out at a 1,200-square-metre green with a false front above a steep kickback bank. Bookings, fees and the pro shop
Members and the public both book tee times online, with public bookings also through the golf shop on 08 8825 2001 — check in there before playing. The schedule covers visitor, member-guest, YPGGA member, pay-and-play, junior and reciprocal rounds over nine or eighteen, with motorised, private and junior cart and club hire plus social-group bookings and gift vouchers.
The pro shop opens 8am to 4pm weekdays and 7:30am weekends, with Friday twilight through daylight saving and Monday from 8:30am. Two practice greens and a short-game area back the warm-up; membership tiers run Copper, Family, Weekday, Summer and Pay & Play, with access to the Greg Norman reciprocal club and resort program.
