The course & your visit
Make a round part of your Clare Valley visit
Clare Golf Club offers a way to put golf into a valley getaway, whether you want a full round or a place in the local club’s playing week. There are visitor options over nine or eighteen holes, hire equipment for travellers, and a function space with views across the course and Clare Valley.

Find your place in the club’s week
The daylight-saving twilight programme is a particularly useful option for a visitor. The club welcomes players with or without a handicap for its Wednesday twilight golf, with a bar and a barbecue available. Bring your own food to cook if you want to make that part of the evening, and confirm the session with the shop before you travel.
Saturday has a different rhythm. Visitors with a golf handicap can join the competition, while non-competition players are directed by the golf shop. If you are after an informal round, speak to the shop about where it fits in the day. That distinction makes it easier to choose between a social visit and a competition round.

Sort the equipment before you arrive
Full and half sets of clubs are listed for hire, along with golf carts. The club asks for cart and club-hire bookings at least 24 hours before play, so a little planning helps if the clubs stayed at home. Its published clubhouse hours also vary across the week and by season; check them before building your arrival around collecting equipment.
The visitor page allows payment at the shop or through the Green Fees Australia app. It also sets out the dress requirements, including shoes and the exclusions for singlets, sandals and thongs. These are worth checking while you organise the booking.

A gathering place with a valley outlook
The function centre adds another dimension to the club. Its large room looks over the course towards the Clare Valley, with regional wines, craft beers and in-house catering listed for events. That makes the venue relevant to a group trip as well as an individual round. For an organised golf day or celebration, ask the club about combining play with a function; arrange catering directly rather than assuming a regular lunch service.
