The course & your visit
North Adelaide: Park Lands golf against the city skyline
North Adelaide Golf Course is the City of Adelaide’s public offering in the Park Lands — 31 holes over two courses, set against the city backdrop the venue trades on. The North Course is a short but testing 13-holer threading majestic gum trees; the Par 3 sits on the River Torrens as the small-scale, all-welcome alternative. A broader redevelopment of the venue is underway, and the South Course is currently closed while it happens — the guide below covers the two courses open for play.

The North Course: thirteen testing holes
The North stretches 1,768 metres across thirteen holes — eight par threes from 82 to 200 metres and five par fours between 276 and 342. The venue frames it as a test of accuracy and ball control with genuine birdie chances, played through tree-lined corridors with a back-to-nature feel. Kikuyu fairways and Santa Ana couch tees and greens are the playing surfaces, and the low-cut rough is presented as a pace-of-play feature: wayward balls stay findable.
It doubles as a junior tournament venue, regularly hosting Golf SA junior events including the yearly Secondary Schools Championship. Check-in is at the new Pro Shop next to North Adelaide Railway Station; while longer-term facilities are built, a temporary booth covers check-in with a small pro shop, grab-and-go food, accessible toilets and seating. Premium, full and cart hire options are listed at the booth.

The Par 3: golf on the Torrens
The Par 3 course sits below War Memorial Drive along the River Torrens, a short walk from the CBD — head up Montefiore Road and left along War Memorial Drive. Holes run 56 to 140 metres from flat synthetic mats into kikuyu fairways and Santa Ana couch greens, with gentle undulations and occasional bunkers. The tone is deliberately relaxed: neat casual attire and closed-toe shoes, and the venue’s own line is that it doesn’t matter what you score or lose.
Practical detail is generous. The Par 3 has its own car park and small pro shop with snacks and limited hire, opens seven days from 7:30am with bookings sixteen days out, and runs twilight from 3:30pm in daylight saving. Family passes and school-group rates exist alongside junior and adult play. The course is fully licensed — you can take a beer onto the holes.

Planning the visit
Both courses are open to all, seven days, with hours that follow the sun — earlier opens in summer, later starts in winter — published month by month, and both close on Christmas Day. The North dress code is relaxed but neat with closed-toe shoes; no singlets or thongs. Competitions welcome GOLF Link handicappers, coaching is available, and corporate or group bookings of twelve or more go direct to the venue.
Eating is split across the two sites: the Par 3 Cafe offers riverside casual dining with barista coffee, cakes and a full bar, while the North Course pro shop covers coffee, house-made rolls and wraps, and Vili’s pastries. For the redevelopment’s progress — including the South Course’s future — the venue points readers to its course-redevelopment updates.
