The course & your visit
Highercombe: the people’s club at Paracombe
Highercombe Golf & Country Club was established in 1967 at 101 Paracombe Road in the small Hills town of Paracombe, with the course following in 1968. It calls itself a people’s club and behaves like one: open to the general public seven days a week with bookings required. The eighteen runs par 70 for men and par 72 for women through stands of poplars, pines, eucalypts and native flora.

Dams, trees and course records
Several dams water the course through summer and host a wide variety of birdlife, while the tree-lined fairways wind through scenic undulating rural ground. The record board is specific: 62 for professionals by Shane Baxter, 66 for amateurs by Mark Deacon, and 75 for women by Jodie Deacon. The course page links each hole without narrating them, so the round keeps its surprises.

Playing here
Public players, visitors and groups are always welcome, with pro-shop bookings necessary for weekends and holidays — Saturday morning tee times are limited. The fee schedule covers eighteen and nine-to-twelve-hole options across adult, pensioner, student, junior and playing-with-member categories, plus cart hire. Corporate and group days are a specialty: the club helps design formats, coordinate times and carts, and link catering from barbecues to formal dining.
