The course & your visit
Victor Harbor: a century above the coast
Victor Harbor Golf Club celebrated its centenary year across 1925 to 2025 — a challenging eighteen with views of the Fleurieu coastline, an iconic first tee, and native flora and fauna through the round. The course sits at 16 Ambrose View with the 4ORE restaurant, a driving range, and a wildlife gallery the club curates hole by hole. Social golfers get generous windows around four club competition days.

The locals: kookaburras, roos and frogmouths
The birds-and-wildlife page reads like a course guide written by a naturalist: kookaburra on the first tee, kangaroos at the clubhouse fountain and on the seventh, a baby owl, a ringtail possum, and a family of tawny frogmouths that keeps returning. A downloadable PDF maps the bird species to expect, and sightings of anything unlisted go to the office. Even the feral fox cub gets a photo credit.
The course overview itself is a ratings table with per-hole photo links rather than written hole notes — the numbers live in our specifications tables, and the character lives in the wildlife pages.

Competitions and social windows
Club competitions run Tuesday (mixed), Wednesday (ladies), Thursday (men) and Saturday (mixed), with pro-shop competitions filling Sunday, Monday and Friday — so social golfers play all day Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Sunday, after 10:30am Wednesday, and after 1pm Thursday and Saturday. Affiliated handicappers are welcome in all competitions; everyone needs their own set of clubs.
The schedule rewards the flexible: a Mad Monday rate, an after-3pm eighteen, junior categories by age, and members’-guest rates over nine or eighteen — plus cart, buggy and club hire from the pro shop on (08) 8552 2030. Junior golf, try-golf sessions, lessons and clinics, corporate days and reciprocal clubs round out the program.

Stay-and-play and the 4ORE
The Grosvenor Hotel partnership packages accommodation at 40 Ocean Street with golf at members’-guest rates — book the hotel on (08) 8552 1011, take the voucher, and arrange tee times direct with the pro shop. Back at the club, the 4ORE restaurant covers terrific course, amazing views, delicious food and friendly bar, in the club’s own four-word summary.
